In an order issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam it has been made mandatory for air passengers traveling from the two airports to furnish the COVID report.

The order which has been shared by Silchar Airport on its official social media handles, states that the decision has been taken keeping in view the rising number of COV1D-19 cases in some parts of the country. “All air passengers from Mumbai and Bengaluru disembarking in any airport in Assam will mandatorily need to carry a negative R T-PCR report, conducted within 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey. If the test is positive the passenger will shift to home isolation or hospital, as per treatment protocol,” asserts the order issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam.
