“Keep your hard feelings within yourself,” Kaushik Rai urges party workers to unite in fight against unholy alliance

Yesterday BJP announced the names of 70 candidates who will contest in the upcoming elections. Many party workers got dejected as incumbent MLAs could not fetch the ticket. Today, Cachar President of BJP Kaushik Rai addressed a gathering of BJP’s booth level workers at the party’s office in Silchar.

At the event, Kaushik Rai and Dipayan Chakraborty were felicitated by the party’s leadership. While addressing the gathering, Rai said, “Every individual is entitled to have their own preference when it comes to the selection of the candidate. But now that the announcement has been made, there is no point pondering upon it.”

The Cachar district president, who had faced a defeat in Algapur, Hailakandi last Assembly elections, will now contest from Lakhipur. To the booth level workers, he made it clear that there may be many choices when it comes to candidates but the goal is one. His exact words were, “Prarthi Onek kintu Prottasha Ek.” He has urged the workers to unite in the fight against the unholy alliance of Congress, AIUDF and CPIM.

Dipayan Chakraborty who will contest from Silchar also spoke at the event. “Will win by a margin of more than 80,000 votes,” he asserted. To the karyakartas he said that it is essential to reach each and every family and communicate BJP’s goal to them in a manner that they understand.

“Your booth is your responsibility should be the strategy,” said Chakraborty, and at the same time, he has urged the workers to avoid interfering in the proceedings of other booths.

Rai and Chakraborty both said that while filing the nominations, one must not breach the guidelines mentioned in the Model Code of Conduct. They have also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Party president JP Nadda, NEDA Chief Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will visit Barak Valley multiple times to campaign for respective candidates.
