Some relief for the people of Barak Valley as the wait for neurosurgeon and cardiologist could soon be over. In an exclusive conversation with Barak Bulletin, Principal cum chief-superintendent of Silchar Medical College and Hospital Babul Bezbaruah confirmed that the government is making efforts to get specialist doctors in Silchar Medical College and Hospital. “We are likely to get a neurosurgeon soon. Dr. Manash Bora is likely to shift to Silchar Medical College and Hospital from Delhi. It is not confirmed yet but it is likely to happen,” said Bezbaruah.

Dr. Manash Bora is specialised neuro and spine surgeon and has been practicing in Delhi’s Max hospital and Gurgaon’s Ayushman Hospital and Health Services. He did his MS – General Surgery from Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh in 2007 and MCh Neuro Surgery from Sawai Mansingh Medical College, Jaipur in 2015.

Apart from the neurosurgeon, the government is also trying to get a cardiologist, “See, it is true that the government is trying its best but nothing can be said before the appointment is made,” said Bezbaruah.
