SHANTICA, a career counselling start-up initiative to launch in Silchar

When it comes to career counselling and making choices for the future, it’s often heard that lack of exposure and perspectives makes people take a wrong turn more often than not. In this rat race to get to the chequered flag of a ‘successful career’, many have sacrificed or compromised with one’s dream or individual talent, just because they didn’t know what to do with their unique skillsets. Or even worse, many don’t even recognise their abilities and skills until it’s quite late to do something about it.

Small town places like Silchar have always faced such a lack of exposure and career counselling, due to which most youth these days prefer to go out in search of a better platform after either completing their under-graduation or even as early as schooling. Keeping these factors in mind, ‘Shantica’, a new startup initiative based out of Silchar, Assam, is all set to start offering several courses on youth training and skill development for the people of Silchar. Its founder, Sucharita Dhar, who has 8 years of experience in working as a Corporate HR in Bangalore, is the brains behind this project who is also the HR Manager of Shantica.

According to Sucharita, most of the kids in their generation had very limited exposure and zero guidance while growing up. While a few lucky ones could go out and achieve their dreams, a huge majority was lost and didn’t know what to do in their career. So to solve this problem and develop their hometown, four passionate people, Sucharita Dhar (HR Manager), Ankita Paul (People Manager), Tapashree Deb (Training Manager), Ricky Deb (IT Manager) are launching Shantica on July 25 with a Free Career Counseling session for all the students in Silchar.

Sucharita further added, “As per our recent survey, 85% of the students from Silchar feel they don’t have enough guidance and support to pursue their career goals. With our first-hand corporate knowledge, we will coach aspirants with key skills like Effective Communication, Leadership skills, Technical skills, Confidence building, etc. as 50% of people get rejected in interviews because they lack these important skills.”

The official launch event will commence at 5 pm on July 25, Sunday. Those who are interested in enrolling themselves in the free counselling session on the occasion of the launch event can do so by registering themselves at https://bit.ly/3eQX99I and all the relevant information will be sent to the interested candidates via email.
