Two houses gutted in fire in Karimganj; damage estimated to be around 40 lakhs

A massive fire has engulfed two residential houses late last night. The devastating incident took place in Nilomoni Road of Karimganj town. While the Fire Department is yet to submit its report, locals believe that short circuit in one of the two houses was the root of the wild flames that burnt two entire houses to ashes.

Reports said that locals along with fire tenders doused the flames and prevented the flames from spreading to nearby houses in the congested locality.

In the incident, one bike and another E Rickshaw completely burnt along with the other valuables of the house. Locals are estimating the damage to be in the range of more than Rs 40 lakhs
