AIUDF Supreme Badaruddin Ajmal Claims Ram Mandir Event a Strategic Move by BJP for Votes

As the nation eagerly awaits the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram scheduled for January 22, 2024 the celebration to inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has swept across the entire country. Recognizing the significance of this event, the central government has issued a nationwide half-day closure until 2:30 pm.

Despite the joyous atmosphere, the longstanding controversies surrounding the Ram Mandir persist in everyday conversations. AIUDF Supreme Badaruddin Ajmal, in a recent press conference, expressed a viewpoint that resonates with one of these controversies.

During the conference, Ajmal asserted that the inauguration of the Ram Mandir is a strategic move by the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the elections. He conveyed a message in Hindi, saying, “Dekho ae diwano, tum yeh kaam na Karo, Ram ka nam badnam na Karo,” urging people not to tarnish the name of Lord Ram.

Ajmal acknowledged the dignitaries invited from India and beyond and appealed to the people of India to uphold the respect for Shri Ram’s name, discouraging any actions that could ruin Lord Ram’s legacy.

Addressing his Muslim brethren, Ajmal called for calm and urged them to avoid creating scenes even if provoked. He then directed his message to the Hindus, encouraging them to follow Shree Ram’s teachings and be devout followers.

Clarifying the stance of AIUDF, Ajmal emphasized their lack of objection to the construction of the Ram Mandir, expressing wholehearted support. However, he acknowledged the possibility of the event being a political tactic to garner votes in the upcoming election.

Ajmal delved into the ongoing controversies surrounding the Pran Pratishtha ritual. He discussed the four Shankar Acharyas who are opting to skip the celebration, citing it as anti-tradition. They argue that the Pran Pratishtha of an idol cannot occur inside a half-built temple. Nevertheless, debates questioning the motivations behind their decision have surfaced, adding complexity to the unfolding events.
