Applicants of Barak Valley score high in Assam Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination. Hailakandi district’s Lala area’s Maria Tanim secured pole position in the merit list. Silchar’s K Eshan Singh secured held 7th position while Souvik Dutta booked 18th berth with exceptional performance in the examination.

“I did my B-tech from Amity University Noida and got a job through campus placement. I was not very happy with the monotonous work culture over there. Apart from that, my father is a retired BDO and therefore I always had interest in public service,” says Tanim in an exclusive interaction with Barak Bulletin. Tanim now has her eyes set on UPSC as she wants to be an IAS, “My hard work has paid off. I thank my parents, family member and friends for their constant support,” she adds.

7th in the merit list, K Eshan Singh is a resident of Rongpur Silchar. His father Babu Singh is a retired sub-inspector of Assam Police. While 18th rank holder Souvik Dutta is a resident of Malugram Silchar, his father is a senior officer in the fishery department.
