Didi’s army was detained in Silchar Airport. Upset and agitated TMC leaders term this as a super emergency. Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has been very vocal about her support towards the left-outs from the final draft of the National Register of Citizens. Today, a eight-member delegation led by Minister in West Bengal’s Mamata cabinet Firhad Hakim  reached Silchar to meet people and take a stalk of the ground reality. 
The TMC delegation allege that they were stopped by Assam Police officials in the airport; their luggage and other stuff were confiscated and they were shown a CrPC 144 notice. It is worth mentioning here that 144 was issued by the administration in Cachar to maintain peace and tranquility following the publication of the final draft of the NRC.

Trinamool MP Kakoli Ghostidar was quoted by a portal based out of West Bengal saying that the Police misbehaved with the delegation. She also mentioned that it looks like “Presidency rule” in Assam at this stage. The members of Trinamool Congress also questioned the authority’s decision to let go other 71 passengers who traveled in the same flight with them.
On the other hand the Assam Police is quite irked with the TMC delegation. According to latest information, a lady Police official got injured in a scuffle with the TMC delegation and as many as three officials had to undergo medical treatment. The Assam Police is now planning to escort the delegation to the guest house in National Institute of Technology. Meanwhile Dwipen Pathak decided to resign as party’s Assam Unit President as a sign of protest against Mamata’s stand on NRC.
The deputy commissioner of Cachar district said that the administration has no clue about any procession or seminar anywhere in Cachar, nor anybody asked for any permission. He, however clarified that if anybody try to the breach the CrPC 144 guidelines, the administration would take strict action against them.
