Assam University cancels remaining TDC examination of CBCS course, prepones summer vacation

On April 28, the Assam University Silchar had notified that all the ongoing odd semester examinations for the CBCS courses will remain postponed until a further order is issued. Today, the Registrar of the Assam University Silchar, Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath issued an order announcing that the remaining odd-semester examinations stand canceled.

The order states, “The remaining theory examinations of TDC odd semester examinations 2021 (CBCS Course) suspended after 27th April 2021 due to spurt in COVID 19 cases stands cancelled.” It adds, “A Committee has been constituted to formulate guidelines and modalities for the award of marks for the canceled theory papers. Details shall be notified shortly after finalization of the same.”

Along with the theory examinations, the order states, the remaining practical examinations of TDC odd semester examinations 2021 (CBCS Course) suspended due to a spurt in COVID 19 cases shall be conducted “through home assignment mode.”

“Similarly, marks for SEC and AECC papers shall also be awarded on assignment basis. Concerned colleges are expected to take necessary action accordingly to ensure submission of assignment by examinees by 30th June 2021,” states the order.  It adds, “A Committee has been constituted to work out the modalities for holding examination of students for Non-CBCS courses as and when the situation permits. The same shall be notified on finalization of modalities.”

The Assam University Silchar has also modified its notification with regards to the summer vacation. The order issued today states, “The summer vacation for all the affiliated TDC Colleges of Assam University is hereby preponed from 5th June to 30th June 2021, keeping in mind the greater interest of the students. Online classes for TDC Even Semester 2021 shall commence from 1st July 2021.”
