"BJP with CM couldn't gather as much crowd as Congress did, this shows the future of the election" District Congress President Abhijit Paul
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma rallied in Silchar on Tuesday to gather support for their Champion for Silchar Lok Sabha Seat, Parimal Suklabaidya. Meanwhile, Cachar Congress also demonstrated their strength with a massive rally attended by over 5 thousand supporters. As BJP nominated their candidates, so did Congress.
With over 5000 people at the rally, Congress marched towards the DC Office and nominated their candidate for Silchar, Suryakanta Sarkar. BJP had arranged a rally today along with the CM of Assam before submitting their nomination, and in response, Congress also displayed their strength.
In the rally, many Congress leaders were present, including Ajit Singh, Aminul Hoque Laskar, and Abhijit Paul. Together, they formally submitted the nomination for Suryakanta Sarkar as their Candidate for Silchar for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
The rally witnessed as many as 5000 people walking together hand in hand, showing their support for their party and their MP Candidate, Suryakanta Sarkar. The supporters chanted various slogans, hailing the party, their candidate, and some patriotic slogans.
After submitting the nomination, addressing the media, Congress Candidate Suryakanta Sarkar stated that his demands are the demands of the public. The public demands the Silchar Railway Station to be renamed as Bhasha Sahid Station, employment opportunities, and the completion of highway work. If and when he wins, he plans to address these demands.
The District Congress President, Abhijit Paul also addressed the media and compared the rallies of both parties, Congress and BJP. He stated that by analyzing the response from people during the rally, one can see who is likely to win this election. He believes that the BJP candidate requires the CM to come down to Silchar to garner support for him, whereas Congress, without being in the ruling seat and with no prominent leader present, was able to gather thousands of people. He believes this shows the capabilities of Congress and offers a glimpse of the future result.
