The free darshan queue was about five hours long, the Rs 50 one had a waiting of an hour while Rs 100 queue was a clear walkthrough. “We had announced it throughout the Puja that the pandal will remain open till Dashami. The permission from District Administration was valid till yesterday, so there is no question of opening the pandal today as we are already dismantling,” says Shankar Roy, General Secretary of the Puja Committee.
He also confirmed that an aquarium has burst inside the Titanic. However, he is not clear yet if it was an accident or it was intentionally done by annoyed visitors, “See there are aquariums in the ceiling too, there is water pressure, we built it for a particular period and any extension will put lives at risk which we do not want at any cost.” Roy adds.
