Creating "conflict" to propagate hate against Police in Kachudaram: Indad Hussain allegedly threatening Officers by claiming to have close ties with DGP, CM

Today, a resident of Kachudaram’s Mohanpur area, Irshad Ali Laskar pressed some serious allegations against In Charge of Kachudaram Police Station, Bipul Biswas. According to Laskar, Saturday morning he saw dead fishes floating in the pond that he claims to be owning. Immediately after that, he went to the Kachudaram Police Station to lodge a complaint.

In today’s press conference, Ishad Ali Laskar said that IC Bipul Bora didn’t lodge his complaint, instead harassed him during the holy month of Ramzan. He said that he was kept detained in the Police station till 10:30 pm and was only released after the villagers went to the Police Station. Not only that, Laskar went on to say that the Police Officer threatened him to beat him mercilessly if he had made a “scene” out of the detention in Police Station.

Police sources, on the other hand, have revealed a completely different story. First of all, there is no clarity on the ownership of the pond. “Irshad Ali Laskar came to the Police Station to lodge a complaint against Naharul Islam Mazumdar. Laskar accused Mazumdar of poisoning his pond to kill the fishes as an act of vengeance. When asked by the in charge, if he saw Mazumdar poisoning the pond, Laskar didn’t have a clear answer. By the time Laskar could finish complaining, Mazumdar reached the Police Station with the same complaint against Laskar,” informed a Police Official witness to the incident.

Since there was a conflict, IC Bipul Biswas said he can only file a case after an investigation. “144 has been clamped on that pond as there is a land dispute. The order was violated as there are videos to prove Laskar was fishing from that pond. Mazumdar has complained against it and as both were pressing charges against each other and both had violated the order, I asked them to wait at the Police Station,” said Biswas.

There were allegations against the Police Officer that he had harassed the man during the holy month of Ramzan. “There was no harassment it was just a routine protocol. In fact, both of them walked out of the Police Station shaking hands with each other in front a good number of witnesses. What provoked them to host a press conference and press these allegations is something that is unknown to me,” responded officer Bipul Biswas

The provocation to hold a press conference and press these allegations against the Police, as per sources, has come from a man identified as Indad Hussain. Sources close to the development have informed that Indad Hussain has been threatening Police officials. “He sends messages to Police Officers doing their duties. He writes that he has a close relationship with the DGP and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is like his brother. He also mentions that he can get anybody transferred by using his resources,” said a Police Officer on condition of anonymity.

Indad Hussain is a resident of Madhurband area and has a criminal record against him. He has been arrested by Cachar Police on several occasions. Most recently, he was involved in a brawl related to a Mosque in Silchar and was arrested in the same case. Reportedly, he is involved in substance abuse.

When asked if Indad Hussain was provoking the locals of Kachudaram against him, In Charge, Bipul Biswas said, “I won’t like to make a comment on this at this stage. I have already informed about this particular incident to my superior.”
