Devastating fire burns down three rented houses in Madhurbond, NRC and other important documents destroyed in the fire
Three residential houses in Silchar’s Madhurbond area were set ablaze in a fire early this morning. The source of the fire is not known as per the last available information. The prompt action of the Fire Department engines helped to doze off the fire, which could take a dire shape and burn down more houses in the area.
This incident happened in the Wahab Ali Lane of the Madhurbond area at around 9, this morning. This fire has burned down three rented houses of Jalal Uddin Laskar, made out of wood and tin. When the locals saw the fire burning, they called the emergency helpline of the Fire Brigade and the fire engines rushed in no time to doze off the fire. Two fire engines were engaged to set the fire off even though nothing inside the houses could be saved. No injuries were reported due to the fire, but losses of property and papers are calculated.
The source of the fire is not yet known to the people but it is being speculated that the fire was caused due a short circuit. According to the victims there, the NRC documents and other government identity cards were burnt down in the fire along with their homes. All three homes were demolished in the fire.
According to a local there, the fire could take a dangerous shape and engulf many other homes in the vicinity, if it was not dozed off in time by the Fire and Emergency Services Department.
