Devastation Strikes Ahead of Durga Puja: Grim Fire Causes loss of rupees 80 lakhs in Katigorah

A massive fire broke out late Monday night at the Kushiarkul Bazaar in West Katigorah, destroying a business complex and causing heavy financial losses. The incident occurred at the Koko Singh Complex, where nine different shops were located.

The fire started around midnight, but due to the late hour, nobody noticed it immediately. Local residents rushed to the scene to try to extinguish the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Fire engines were dispatched from Kalain, yet the fire could not be controlled.

All nine shops in the complex were reduced to ashes, leaving the owners devastated. With Durga Puja just around the corner, the destruction of the business complex has dealt a severe blow to the shop owners, who have suffered significant losses.

The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and no casualties have been reported so far. However, the impact on the lives of the shop owners is severe. With Durga Puja just around the corner, many of them had stocked up on goods in anticipation of the festive rush. Now, with everything reduced to ashes, they face not only the loss of their merchandise but also the potential collapse of their businesses during one of the most crucial times of the year, leaving their livelihoods in jeopardy.

This year, it is believed that Maa Durga is arriving on a Palanquin (Palki), which is traditionally seen as inauspicious, as it is said to bring calamities and hardships into people’s lives. Such an arrival is often associated with economic decline, natural disasters, or the spread of diseases.
