Dr Himabrata Das writes about his buddy Rajdeep Choudhury's brand new music video "Udja Udja Re"

Love in the time of Corona

These are indeed exciting times for Silchar boy Rajdeep Choudhury whose brand new music video “Udja Udja Re” under the prestigious Zee Music Company label has been trending on various social media platforms. Rajdeep delights with his performance as a talented actor with soul-touching expressions. The song is fresh, romantic and uplifting and the breathtaking landscape of Malaga on the Spanish Costa del Sol(Coast of the Sun) makes for captivating viewing.

The video chronicles the journey of a sweet couple who finally decide to meet after months of chatting over Facebook. Rajdeep navigates the Spanish countryside with elegance in his tryst to behold his beloved, played by the stunning Erica Ortega. The cherished moment arrives with the lovers meeting under a hundred umbrellas. Rajdeep leaves you impressed with his screen presence even as the trippy soundtrack fades into the background.

Rajdeep will hit the big screens soon with his next film which features Karan Singh Grover, Bipasha Basu and Natasha Suri. He is also gearing up for another project that starts filming later this year.

The Golden Boy of Silchar is surely climbing the ladder, from working with the BBC in the UK to being recognised by massive Bollywood names such as Arbaaz Khan. It’s about time we had our own superstar from the Barak Valley. And Rajdeep Choudhury is certainly knocking on the door.

P.S.The cutest part of the video for me was to see Mr. John William Roe who features at 0:51 as the smiling acquaintance who sips his beer as Rajdeep walks by. A lover of India, John is no stranger to Silchar. It’s fitting to have the nice-hearted Londoner feature in the music video. The world is a heartier place thanks to genuine wellwishers like you, John!

Here is the music video:
