"Got my reward for being honest" Dilip Paul after BJP's snub; Says, "Will speak soon"

The BJP has announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Assam assembly election. And as anticipated, there were many unexpected exclusions as well as inclusions for the running tickets.

In Silchar constituency, Dipayan Chakraborty, a long-time karyakarta of the Cachar BJP was handed over the ticket to compete in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election by refusing to entrust the incumbent MLA of Silchar, Dilip Kumar Paul.

BJP candidate Dipayan Chakraborty has come out and thanked the party bureaucracy and karyakartas for entrusting him by giving him the ticket for the upcoming election. However, as expected Dilip Kumar Paul is left unhappy with the decision.

Paul won for the first time in 2014 by-polls and followed up with another victory in 2016. He was on the run to become the first BJP MLA to have won Silchar constituency three consecutive times.

Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Dilip Paul said, “I have got my reward for being honest.” Paul didn’t want to say much about the decision, “Will speak out soon,” he asserted.

When asked about what his next strategy and line of action would be, the only thing he said in reply is that “At this moment, there is no strategy. It is time to take some rest.”

Paul defeated Congress’ Arun Dutta Mazumdar in 2014 and in 2016 he won against Bithika Dev.
