The dark tide of the flood has engulfed the lives of the people in Barak Valley, shaking the peace out of humankind. An utter shortage of resources is knocking on the doors of everyone, even those on the highest floors of a building.

At this situation, the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, appealed to everyone to shift to the highlands to save themselves, alongside which relief are being provided constantly. She informed that the NDRF, BSF and army have been deployed to carry out rescue operations.

“I urge everyone, the NGOs and even the business class of the society, to keep aside all boundaries of caste, faction and religion, and lend a helping hand to the people around you. Its a humble request”, she said.

In an online meeting with the Chief Minister, DC Keerthi Jalli and Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, listed the various items that the district is suffering from a dearth of, and requested necessary cooperation from the Government. The DC mentioned the necessity of geo bags, to which the CM instantly agreed.

In another interview, our Chief Minister mentioned that after a discussion with the Prime Minister and Home Minister. The CM announced that a total of 1lakh litres of petrol will be airlifted by the Indian Airforce to Silchar. This arrangement has been made to ensure the relief and recue operations don’t hit a standstill
