Indigo announces another direct flight from Silchar to celebrate anniversary

On the 1st anniversary of Indigo airlines at Silchar, the low cost airlines has decided to gift the passengers of Barak Valley with another direct flight between Silchar and Kolkata, making its fleet stronger to three, the Silchar Airports Authority officials said on Tuesday.

At present, the airline is operating only two flights from Silchar Airport, one in Silchar Guwahati while another in Silchar Kolkata route.

“We are delighted to inform that Indigo is introducing it’s 03rd flight, 6E361/362 from 22.09.2020 to commemorate their 1st Anniversary at Silchar Airport”, the airport officials said in a tweet.

According to the new flight schedule released by Silchar Airport Authority on Tuesday, there are three airlines serving at Silchar Airport- Air India operating biweekly flight in Silchar Kolkata route and Spicejet operating daily flight in Silchar Guwahati and Silchar Kolkata route, apart from Indigo which is also operating two flights, each in Kolkata and Guwahati route.

Flight number 6E 361, w.e.f 22nd September, will depart from Kolkata at 07.15 AM and will reach Silchar at 8:30 AM. After a brief halt of 40 mins, flight 6E 362 will depart from Silchar in 9:10 AM and will arrive in Kolkata at 10:30 AM. Fares of both flights are Rs 3877 & Rs 3280 respectively, according to the airline’s website.

IndiGo has a fleet of over 262 aircraft, the airline offers 1674 daily flights and connects 62 domestic destinations and 24 international destinations. Flyers can book flight tickets at IndiGo’s official app and website.

IndiGo on September 12, 2020 marked the completion of 50,000 flights since lockdown. The tally includes scheduled commercial operations, passenger charters, CarGo charters, Air Bubble flights, and repatriation flights under the Vande Bharat programme, a statement said.
