NF Railway adds an AC 3-tier coach to Silchar - Dibrugarh express; Converts Avadh Assam to LHB rake
To provide better passenger amenities, many long-distance trains of NFR are being converted to run with modern LHB coaches. Yesterday, 15909 / 15910 Avadh Assam Express running between Dibrugarh – Lalgarh has been converted to LHB rake from conventional rake. Prior to this 15960 / 15959 Kamrup Express was also converted to LHB rake in January 2020.
“With this, a total of 32 trains of NFR are running with LHB rakes. These LHB rakes are safer for high speed running and fitted with better passenger amenities. These conversions will provide much comfortable journey experience to the passengers, in line with Indian Railways’ objective to provide its passengers with enhanced user experience,” said Subhanan Chanda, chief public relations officer, N F Railway.
Northeast Frontier Railway is attaching additional coaches in many trains permanently to provide more accommodation and to reduce the number of waitlisted passengers. Recently it has been decided to add one AC 3 tier coach in trains like 15942 / 15941 Guwahati – Jhajha Express, 15944 / 15943 Dibrugarh – Silchar Express, 15646/ 15645 Guwahati – Lokmanya Tilak Express, 15636 / 15635 Guwahati – Okha Express, 15648 / 15647 Guwahati – Lokmanya Tilak Express, 15643 / 15644 Guwahati – Jammu Tawai Amarnath Express, 15651 / 15652 Guwahati – Jammu Tawai Lohit Express.
Apart from the AC 3 tier coaches, one second-class coach will be added in 15713 / 15712 Katihar – Patna Intercity Express. One chair car coach has already been added in 13161 / 13162 Kolkata – Balurghat Tebhaga Express and 12363 / 12364 Kolkata – Haldibari Superfast Express for the benefit of passengers.
