After a gap of few days, Silchar Medical College and Hospital again reported deaths in the COVID block of the hospital. Vice Principal of SMCH, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta informed that three patients succumbed to Coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. All three of them are from Cachar district.

Dr. Gupta added that in the last 24 hours, eight patients took admission to the COVID wards in the hospital while 10 got discharged. Currently, there are 110 patients admitted with coronavirus infection and 22 of them are in critical condition. All of them are in ICU and five have been put under a ventilator.

In  Karimganj district, 615 samples were tested using Rapid Antigen Test kit and 10 of them tested positive. 33 patients were discharged after recovery.

10 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Tuesday, taking the district’s total tally to 3,178.

Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that all the 10 positive cases have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 801 swab samples were taken on Tuesday out of which 109 are under RT-PCR and 692 under RAT.

In Cachar district, the number of positive cases grew from what it was yesterday. 18 samples tested positive on RT-PCR and 55 on RAT taking the district’s tally on Tuesday to 73. 1305 samples were tested by the health department using Rapid Antigen Test kit.
