Police Investigate Kalain Robbery; Key Evidence and Live Bullets Found in Tea Garden Operation
In the blatant robbery last night at Kalain’s Brahmangram area where 10-15 robbers entered the house of a businessman and robbed the house at gunpoint, police have launched an investigation. Although the police team have not yet apprehended the suspects, a significant lead has emerged.
The police have launched an investigation into the robbery incident of last night in the Kalain area of Cachar. The search for the robbers is ongoing with the Kalain police actively pursuing leads. This morning police launched an operation at a tea garden in the area. During the search, police recovered several rounds of live ammunition and empty boxes of gold ornaments all from one jeweller. The police team suspects it to be the same ornament boxes that were stolen last night.
Last night, a gang, consisting of 10 to 15 armed individuals, forcibly entered the home of businessman Niben Chandra Roy late last night. They assaulted family members and, under the threat of firearms, stole ₹11 lakh in cash and several lakh worth of gold ornaments. After causing chaos in the house for nearly an hour, the robbers proceeded to Niben Chandra’s business establishment, where they stole ₹70,000.
Robbery and dacoity incidents are on the rise not just in Cachar but the other districts of Barak Valley. Only yesterday two thieves were arrested in the Budhurail area of Ramnagar in Silchar. Katigorah Police too recently made in the June 20 TKR Road dacoity incident. Karimganj too is plagued by the night robbery incidents almost daily. Even frequent night patrolling is unable to stop the incidents of robbery.
