Road accident in Cachar; 40-year-old healthcare worker is no more 

In a tragic turn of affairs, a healthcare worker of Cachar district has lost her life. The incident occured today afternoon at Shibur Jangal area in Udharbond Silchar. 

Kalyan Bhattacharjee’s wife Sanghita Bhattacharjee was on her way home to Salganga with her son Kaushik Bhattacharjee riding on a scooter. At VIP road near Shibur Jangal between Udharbond and Salganga, a fast driving Maruti Suzuki Swift allegedly collided with the scooter. The impact forced both mother and son off the scooter and Sanghita Bhattacharjee suffered serious head injury.

The locals rushed to the spot and rescued both of them. They were rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital but Sanghita Bhattacharjee succumbed on her way at the age of 40.

After the incident was reported, Udharbond Police rushed to the spot and recovered the scooter.

It has been learned that deceased, Sanghita Bhattacharjee was on duty as healthcare worker at the Model hospital.
