Transformer team wins TT Premier League tournament in thrilling match against Trouble Stroker by 3-2

Udharbond Table Tennis Club’s first TT Premier League ended in an ostentatious manner. The Transformer became the first team to win the tournament by defeating Trouble Stroker team by 3-2 in a thrilling match held at the club’s indoor venue.

Azharul Islam Barlaskar’s Transformer team included Shubham Das (Siliguri), Ayush Barbhuiya (TT Club) alongwith Pradeepjyoti Bhattacharjee and Divija Paul of the same club. Runner’s-up Suranjan Sharma’s Trouble Stroker team consisted of Snehanita Saha from Siliguri alongwith Shankar Dey, Sneha Sharma and Shubharaj Dev. The second runner’s up of this exceptional competition was Sion Roy’s Phoenix team. The team was represented by Swagata Sarkar from Siliguri, Arijit Dev of TT Club, Adityaraj Chanda and Rahini Dev. The two-day competition started on Tuesday. Seven teams participated in it.

At the end of the competition, Club President Suryakumar Sharma, Udharbond GP President Sadhana Acharya, USA President Sujit Dev, club officials including Keshav Dutta, Sayon Roy, Rupam Dhar on behalf of the sponsors gave away the prizes to the winners.

TT high performance camp has been going on for the last one month at the Table Tennis Club in Udharbond. 6 state and national level paddlers from Siliguri participated in the camp. A total of 14 selected paddlers from Silchar and Udharbond were also in the camp with them. They practiced continuously under the supervision of coach Shubham Das from Siliguri and Parthapratim Dev of TT Club. Such a camp is exceptional in Barak Valley as well as the entire state. Six paddlers from Siliguri alongwith two coaches of the camp, assistant coaches Shankar Dey and Subhraj Dev were felicitated by the club with tracksuits and mementos.

It may be noted that the Siliguri paddlers returned home on Friday morning, but the camp under the supervision of Shubham Das will continue till February 2.
