In a tragic road accident, Jakir Hussain Barbhuiya, a 35-year-old resident of Seuti in North Katigorah, lost his life when his vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Mizoram. Jakir, who was driving a truck loaded with cooking gas cylinders from the Borkhola’s Jarailtola Gas Bottling Plant, met with the accident at Lunglu in Mizoram. The incident occurred late Wednesday night, leaving his family and the local community in mourning.

According to family sources, Jakir’s truck lost control and fell into the gorge, resulting in his instant death. The handyman accompanying him was rescued with injuries and rushed to a nearby hospital. The news of Jakir’s death reached his home on Thursday morning, casting a pall of grief over the family and the community.

Jakir’s family is in deep shock as he was the sole breadwinner. He leaves behind his wife, two young daughters, a son, and his parents, including his father, Eklas Uddin, who is bedridden with paralysis. The sudden demise has left the family devastated, as they are now struggling with the financial burden of bringing his body back home.

On hearing the news, the family members began their journey to Mizoram to retrieve his body. However, the family is facing financial constraints in arranging the transportation of the body back to their home. They have appealed to the community for support and assistance in this challenging time.

Jakir’s death highlights the dangers faced by drivers navigating through the treacherous roads of Mizoram. His family is not only grieving his loss but also struggling with the immediate financial needs and the long-term uncertainty of their future.
