12-Year-Old Madrasa Student's Murder Mystery in Cachar Solved: Teacher Commits Act of Vengeance by slitting throat

The Cachar Police received a report regarding the brutal murder of 12-year-old Hawaithang Darus Salam Hafizia and Aliya Madrasa student yesterday. Following this, Cachar SP Numal Mahatta and his team, including the OC of Dholai Police Station, launched an investigation.

Police sources from the district headquarters have confirmed to the Barak Bulletin that the mystery behind the murder has been unraveled. A teacher of the Madrasa, Hafiz Mouksin Rahman Khan, was responsible for the gruesome act of slitting the throat of the 12-year-old student.

The victim, Rojimul Hussain Laskar, is a student of the Madrasa. A few days ago, he absconded the dormitory and returned home without informing the Madrasa’s Hafiz. This violation of rules angered Hafiz Mouksin Rahman Khan, who punished the boy upon his return by hitting him with a stick and subjecting him to other forms of physical torture. Khan also accused the 12-year-old of stealing a mobile phone and fleeing the Madrasa, though this allegation could not be proven.

Rojimul Hussain Laskar’s family members learned of the torture and reported it to the clerics. The clerics then asked Hafiz Moksil Rahman Khan to apologize and ensure he would never commit such a crime again in his life. This demand for forgiveness in a public gathering wounded Khan’s ego, as stated by the investigating officer.

A couple of days back, Rojimul Hussain Laskar once again left the Madrasa and went to his aunt’s house without informing the authorities. Upon his return to the Madrasa, Hafiz Mouksin Rahman Khan killed him by slitting his throat, an act believed by the Police to be an “act of vengeance.”

Cachar SP Numal Mahatta, speaking to our correspondent, stated, “We have arrested the principal suspect in the case, who was an Imam at the Madrasa. During our investigation, we discovered that the Imam Mouksin Rahman Khan has a history of mistreating children enrolled in the Madrasa, particularly the 12-year-old victim. Despite multiple attempts to run away from the Madrasa, the victim’s parents brought him back each time. Before his death, he once again managed to escape, but his parents brought him back. Subsequently, he was killed by having his throat slit.”

For those unfamiliar with the case, at around 3:30 am on Sunday, a student woke up to give the Fajr call to prayer and noticed blood in the room. Upon closer inspection, he saw that his classmate Rojimul’s throat had been slit. Rojimul was found sleeping on the bed alongside other students. The incident was immediately reported to others in the Madrasa, leading to a gathering of people who subsequently reported the matter to the Police
