12-ft King Cobra rescued from Silchar, Trikal Chakraborty calls it “Season’s First”

A 12 foot long King Cobra was rescued following a two hour high tension operation from Dargakona this afternoon. Wildlife rescuer and conservationist, Trikal Chakraborty released the rescued snake to its natural habitat after sensitizing the local population.

After getting a call from the locals, Trikal Chakraborty, the renowned conservationist of Cachar rushed to the spot to rescue the king cobra. On his initial recce, he found the snake stuck inside inside a house in the village. The expert immediately got into action to save both the snake and the locals from any mishap.

Little did he know, it would take him more than two hours for the safe rescue. Chakraborty is expert in operating under such situations. Informing Barak Bulletin, Trikal said, “It is the season’s first King cobra rescue. This big size 12ft king cobra was rescued from Dargakona village after a two and half hours operation. I have also made the locals aware of conservation and later released the king back into its natural habitat”.

It is worth mentioning here that the king cobra is a venomous snake and the amount of neurotoxin they can deliver in a single bite is enough to kill 20 people, or even an elephant.
