Mask Selling Point installed as ISBT Silchar for inter-district passengers

In compliance of the Video Conference held on 20th April 2020 under the Chairmanship of Minister, P&RD Department, Naba Kumar Doley, space was given by the Cachar Deputy Commissioner for the installation of small temporary mask selling point at ISBT.

District Mission Management Unit of Cachar under Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) has set up a stall for selling of Cotton face mask produced by SHG members at ISBT on Saturday, with a view to encourage the needy SHG members who are involved in Mask making activity to minimize the scarcity of reusable/washable face mask for the people at large.

On the other hand the installation of mask selling point at ISBT will make available of mask for the inter district returning passengers.

Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sharma explained the significance of cotton mask to all, so that people can come forward to purchase & use the mask. She also mentioned that, this cotton mask produced by SHG members is very cost effective and can be used for several time as it is reusable. She also informed that a aprx 50000 nos. face mask have already been produced by the SHG under ASRLM, out of these aprx 34000 nos of mask have already been sold and aprx 6000 nos. been distributed at free of cost by the SHGs under ASRLM in Cachar District.

Chief Executive Officer of Cachar Zilla Parishad Dipshikha Dey felicitated the SHG members with a phulan Gamucha to encourage the SHG members. She also mentioned them as real warriors considering the need of the hour. She assured the SHG members that all necessary support will be provided to the SHG members as and when required in respect of mask production & sale. She also felicitated some mask buyers to encourage the others.

It is to be mentioned here that, SP Cachar Manabendra Devray has purchased 1000 nos. Of Mask from the Stall as a first buyers just to encourage the SHG members.

In order to encourage the SHG members Rasaraj Das, Special Executive Officer, DRDA, Saoumitra Kr Dey, District Project Manager ASRLM, Cachar were present during inauguration of Mask Selling point at ISBT to support and motivate the SHG members.
