In our first article, Tarapur resident Adwoy Purkayastha has shared his “Gearing Up For Durga Puja 2019” story with us.
Adwoy Purkayastha, 19-year-old, resident of Tarapur, Silchar.
Born and brought up in Chandmari, I have never seen the Matri Mandir Durga Puja Committee setting up such a big pandal to celebrate Durga Puja in my life. This year, in 2019, they complete 50 years, and to celebrate their golden jubilee, the organisers are going an extra mile.
A couple of days back, after having a couple of plates of chicken momos, as I was walking back to my home located near Kendriya Vidyalaya, I thought of stopping by the ‘under construction’ pandal.
It was around 8 in the evening, the lights were on and I could see the decorators busy working on the pandals. What appealed to me was that in just a few days, what now looks like a stack of bamboos, will transform to hopefully something amazing for people to come and see.
After staring at them for a while, I took out my phone and clicked this image.
Hoping to have a fun-filled pujas with my family and friends.
