Arunachal SS wins high voltage match against Tarapur AC to march to 'Super Four' unbeaten

Records after record are being made in the Ramanuj Gupta Super Division Football League. Arunachal SS is now definitely the favourite team in the entire league. It was just their third match in this tournament and after winning the previous two matches, they didn’t shift a gear down. Yes, Arunachal SS has made a historic hat-trick win in today’s match against the Tarapur AC with a score of 3-nil.

This win for SS came after a rather hard battle against the Tarapur AC. 3-nil might make it sound easy to win for Arunachal, but today’s match was full of controversies and disputes. The temperature in the field was high throughout the match. Both the team had commendable defensive lines and mid-field. There was not a single goal from both ends up to 51 minutes of the match. But then something unusual happened which eventually turned the match around. There was a controversial penalty against the Tarapur AC from the referee of the match, Abdulmajid Choudhury. One of Tarapur’s defenders fouled opponent Arunachal’s player at the edge of the box. After the referee’s penalty, there was huge outrage among the Tarapur team. But the referee was adamant. Taking advantage of the penalty kick, Thanjik Rongmei scored the first goal for SS. With 1-0, Arunachal was leading in that match.

Tarapur team lost their calm following the penalty goal, but Arunachal being the extremely coordinated team of this league, saw opportunities in that. Taking advantage of this rough form of Tarapur, Arunachal’s Pranab Das secured their second goal at 65 minutes. With this, the already outrageous team became even furious.

When the match was 71 minutes old, the spectators saw another massive fight on the pitch. Tarapur’s Gaidamei Rongmei fouled Thangam Lenin Singh at 71 minutes. Centering that foul, the field saw a huge clash between both teams. One team’s player started pushing another, and for this, the match had to be stopped for whole 6 minutes.

Officials and coaches had to intervene to stop this clash. When the situation came under control, the match was restarted. But Tarapur had lost their shape by then. The last goal of the match, which shook the Tarapur AC-nets was at 86 minutes of the match.

After this heavy match, Arunachal has made their way in the Super Four of the league. Probably this match was a learning experience for Tarapur AC, that more than a good defensive line and mid-field, they need to keep calm in crucial moments.
