3 Police personnel from Cachar get medal for 'Meritorious Service'; "Matter of pride for all of us," SP Ramandeep Kaur

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India announced that a total of 1,380 Police personnel have been awarded Medals on the occasion of Independence Day, 2021.

A total of 662 police personnel will receive Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), 628 personnel will be felicitated with President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) and 662 will get for Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM). Besides, 88 personnel will receive President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) on 75th I-Day.

What comes as an immense matter of pride for Cachar Police is that three personnel has found a spot in the list of “Police Medal For Meritorious Service” awardees. Dhrubojyoti Das, Inspector of Police (AB), Soradindu Deb Roy, Constable (UB) 404 and Sharmila Singh, Women Constable (UB) 651 DEF, have been chosen for the award from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

“It is a matter of great pride for us,” reacted, Ramandeep Kaur, superintendent of Police, Cachar. “Their contribution has been recognised,” she added. While congratulating the three recipients, Kaur added, “It is a motivating factor, not only for the three of them but all of us.”

Four personnel from Assam Police have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry. They are Lamhao Doungel, additional SP, Prakash Sonowal, additional SP, Late Bhaskar Kalita and Dipak Borah CT. Munna Prasad Gupta, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati has been awarded the ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ and 13 personnel from Assam got the ‘Police Medal For Meritorious Service’ and three of them are from Cachar.
