After colleges now Assam Government announces free admission in higher secondary 

On June 7, education minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that admissions in government colleges will be absolutely free for students irrespective of their financial condition.

Today an order issued by the secondary education department, the government of Assam announced that in view of financial hardship faced by the parents due to COVID-19 pandemic in the state and in consideration of all other aspects, the Government of Assam has decided to waive the admission fees for admission into class XI and XII in government institutions.

“Admission fees, tuition fees including any other fees such as the cost of prospectus and admission form, etc shall not be charged from the students/parents irrespective of financial status such as APL or BPL, etc during the year 2020,” stated the letter.

The order made it clear that. any institution found charging any kind of fees whatsoever the amount be, it will be viewed very seriously.

It also adds, in case any institution while waiving 100% percent admission fees to the students find any financial hardships they may approach through their concerned Inspector of school for advanced reimbursement of fees equal to half of the amount of the fees reimbursement giving last year.
