Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Intensifies Election Campaign with Roadshows and Public Meetings Across Barak Valley

The election season is underway, and the political temperature continues to rise with a series of high-profile visits to the Barak Valley being announced. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has unveiled the second phase of his “Electioneering Programme,” with scheduled visits to Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi. On April 18 and 20, CM Sarma is slated to conduct roadshows and public meetings in various locales across the valley.

In this subsequent phase of his electioneering program, Himanta Biswa Sarma will vigorously campaign to rally support for BJP-affiliated candidates in Barak Valley. Tomorrow, CM Sarma is set to host four public meetings in Katlicherra, South Karimganj, Katigorah, and Udharbond LACs. Later in the day, he will headline a roadshow in Silchar.

Following his April 18 engagements across various Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs), Himanta Biswa Sarma will return on April 20. On Saturday, he is scheduled to address a public meeting in Dholai, the home constituency of Lok Sabha election candidate Parimal Suklabaidya. Additionally, he will convene meetings with BJP supporters in Borkhola, Patharkandi, and North Karimganj.

Concluding his visit to Barak Valley on the same day, Sarma will cap off with a roadshow in Hailakandi town. Notably, Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Transport, Excise, and Fisheries of Assam, will vie for the Silchar constituency on an SC reserved ticket. In the Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency, which encompasses Hailakandi, the incumbent MP Kripanath Malla will run on the BJP ticket.
