Fire in Karimganj Boys School's mid-day meal store room, "How can it be short circuit in a hall without electricity," questions teacher

At around 6:00 am in the morning, people in Karimganj Main Road saw flames coming out of a room at Government Boys School. Immediately, the School authority was informed and the Fire and Emergency Services were alarmed.

The Firemen rushed to the spot and managed to bring the flames under control. However, by then the rice stored for the mid-day meal got burnt to ashes.

It is believed that a short circuit somewhere resulted in the fire. But a senior teacher questions the root of this observation. “There is no electricity in the rice room. We never used any electricity in that room. In such a scenario, how can a short-circuit result in a fire,” the teacher questioned.

He informed that there were about 45 sacks of rice that got burnt. “In the morning, a staff informed about the fire and then he rushed to the spot to trace the fire. The emergency services responded to our report immediately and the fire was brought under control before it could spread further,” added the teacher.
