Maruti Nexa showroom staff, petrol Pump employees among 53 COVID positive cases in Cachar

Cachar district administration informed that 53 new COVID positive cases were reported in the district on Sunday. Among them, there were four officials from the Cachar Police, Healthcare workers at Foreigner’s Tribunal COVID Care Centre in Rongpur Mahmada Begum Barbhuiya (25), Abhijit Dey (40).

Three individuals associated with Maruti Suzuki Nexa showroom in Rongpur, Anwar Hussain Laskar (30), Rajdeep Das (30), Deborup Paul (28) have tested positive for the virus. All of them had come in close contact with the lab-confirmed COVID positive case.

Contact tracing continued in the district and Assam Rifles Silchar’s Indrajit Roy (43), Natush Biswas (23), Central Road’s Debangana Saha (19), Janiganj Cachar’s Prosenjit Suklabaidya (28), Pailapool’s Khamnu Bibi (45), Hailakandi Road Saikat Dhar (35), National Highway Silchar, near Bank of India, Sandha Paul (49).

Under the Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP) Shalchapra Petrol Pump’s Rakesh Sinha (44), Sunil Sinha (58) have tested positive. Suffering from Influenza-Like Illness, Station Road, Tarapur’s Debarati Kar (29) tested positive for the infection.

There were a few with travel history too. From Bangalore, Gonigram – Ranighat’s Nazmul Hussain Barbhuiya (27), Bhutan Khal – Dholai’s Abdul Zaber (34). From Guwahati, Banskandi’s Jofar Aziz (22), Sajada Choudhury (46) were found infected by the virus.
